MarketTime offers the ability to designate Product Lines within each Manufacturer. A Product Line is often a sub-line or sub-brand within the larger Manufacturer. This feature allows you to simply designate the Line for browsability within the MarketTime Pro app , or go as far as allow items within that line to split off into different orders.
NOTE: Product Lines are only supported in the Web App (https://apps/markettime.com)and MarketTime Pro app for iOS
How to Create/Edit Product Lines
To create a Product Line, navigate to the View Items screen. Here you will find a Product Lines button:
Click New in the resulting popup to create a new Product Line.
Here you will designate a Name for the Line (1), determine if products that are a part of this line should be split into a different order/PO if added to a basket (2), then click Add to add it (3).
NOTE: When enabling the Split Orders by Product Line option, this can not be overridden by an Order Writer (be it a Salesperson or Retailer on a B2B Website).
Once you've added a Product Line, you may edit/remove them using this same window.
The Edit button allows you to rename or enable the Split Orders option, or delete it with the trashcan icon.
Manually adding products to a Product Line
Once your Product Lines are in place, you may manually add items to them from within each item.
Add a new or exit an existing item (which can be done from the Items tab if desired) to begin.
Within each item, you can designate it's Product Line using the corresponding drop-down.
Be sure to click Save when you're done assigning the item to it's Line.
How to Import items into a Product Line via Excel
Similar to regular product imports, you'll navigate to the Import & Export screen to import products and their lines.
NOTE: Product Lines must be created using the steps above prior to importing products into them.
When matching columns, you'll use a Product Line column to ensure lines are mapped according to the lines you set up using the steps above.
