Is there a way to auto-populate a PO # when creating a direct?
Invoice numbers can be auto-populated when creating a new direct order, but the PO Number field must be manually entered. You can use a PO number or pattern that best suits your business.
To auto-create an invoice number, click the arrow icon button above the Inv # field:
If I add one direct order with multiple invoices, will the system add all the invoices to a total?
-
Manual Entry: If you manually enter multiple invoices for a single direct order, you will need to edit the Order Amt to the correct amount:
-
Import: If you import multiple invoices for a single direct order, the system will automatically calculate the order total from the sum of all invoice amounts:
Pay Salespeople Process
Is there a way to stop sending summaries to reps? We process our team summaries differently.
Yes! Sending summaries to reps is optional. Here's how to stop sending them to salespeople:
- On the Print/Email Summary step, enter your email address into the Email box, or coming soon, skip the step:
- On the Print/Email Comm Details step, click Download All or coming soon and skip the step:
Will I get an email confirmation that the commission statements have been sent?
If you email your sales reps their detailed commission statements, you'll see a green check mark by their name in the Print/Email Comm Detail step of the final Pay Salespeople process.
Reports & Statements
Help! Why am I seeing inaccurate numbers on salesperson commission summary statements?
We are aware of an issue on the Order Payments "Salesperson Commission Summary" report. This issue occurs when the report is generated while logged in as a sales agency admin user or salesperson (if the salesperson has permission to run commission reports).
The amounts that do not match on the report include:
- Net Pay this Period
- Net YTD Commission
In the example below, the "Pay Period" is January 2025 (with a commission payment date of 1/31/2025), and the "Net Pay this Period" and "Net YTD Commission" amounts are different.
Why is this happening?
This is happening because the current "Net YTD Commission" amount includes all commission amounts for the "Calendar Year" (of 2025), instead of "Year to Date" (based on the commission payment date). For example, if there are two commissions:
- $25.00 for commission payment date of 1/31/2025
- $25.00 for commission payment date of 2/28/2025
The report will show the "Net YTD Commission" amount as $50.00 because the number is calculated as a sum of all commissions tied to commission checks for calendar year 2025 (including past, current, and future commission amounts).
What can I do about this?
- For Sales Agency Admins
- You can run the 4. Order Payments > 2. The Company Commission Summary (4.2 report) which, when grouped by Salesperson, is a consistently accurate report
- Report Filters:

- Report Filters:
- If you would like to prevent salespeople from running commission statements themselves (and seeing future commission amounts), you can disable access to commission reports for salespeople by:
- Navigating to Billing & Payments
- Locating the salesperson
- Clicking the Default/Custom button
- Clicking Disable Access for Reports & Analytics > Reports 4: Order Payments
- Clicking Save
- For Salespeople: Please be aware that if you are using the 4. Order Payments > 1. Salesperson Commission Statement reports, that the YTD amount may be higher than the "Net Pay this Period" amount
- You can run the 4. Order Payments > 2. The Company Commission Summary (4.2 report) which, when grouped by Salesperson, is a consistently accurate report
What is MarketTime doing to address this issue?
We are looking to start development soon to address this issue and ensure the salesperson commission reports report accurate "Year to Date accurately" (YTD) amounts based on the date the report is being generated.
Why don't my commission statements match?
When you generate summary and detailed commission statements, you might notice that the commission amounts do not match between the reports. This discrepancy is typically due to using different filters for each report. When different filters are applied, the reports will contain different data sets, resulting in varied amounts that do not match.
Here's an example if you run reports using the default filters:
If you update the filters to this, then the amounts in the reports will match:
