During your use of mtPro, there are many pieces of data that sync in the background during the normal use of the app (as long as you're connected to the internet). There are only a few times or situations where you should need to perform a sync.
The information below serves to answer the question "Should I sync?"
What Syncs "Naturally" During use of the App?
The following datapoints "naturally" sync in the background as you use the app, write orders, etc.
This is under the assumption the device is connected to the internet:
- Customers to and from the server
- Item history
- Order history
- New orders written or modified on your device
- You may see a "Sending Order to the Cloud" message at the bottom of the screen when exiting an order that signifies this too!
- Orders written or modified as relevant to your user or Show/Road status on your device
- Orders for your customers or assigned Manufacturer (if user is a Manufacturer License), etc.
When should I perform a Sync?
You should not need to continue syncing unless one of the following things has happened. All other data points flow "naturally" as listed above:
- New products or new Manufacturers were added
- New catalogs were added
- Prices were changed on existing products
- Promotions were added or changed
We generally suggest syncing at the beginning and end of the day during peak times (shows, markets, heavy usage by your company) to ensure quicker syncs and up-to-date data on your device without compromising your ability to use the app efficiently and accurately.
