The MarketTime iPad app includes two settings that give you control over how the order taker is assigned when writing orders. These settings (Require Order Taker Selection and Default Order Taker) are designed to support different workflows, from shared showroom devices to temporary rep coverage, and can be configured independently to match how specific teams operate.
Require Order Taker Selection Setting
What it Does
When the “Require Order Taker Selection” setting is enabled, the app will prompt the user to select an order taker before each new order is started. The app remembers the last selection made, so the previous choice is always pre-selected, but the prompt still appears every time, requiring a deliberate confirmation or change before proceeding.
This setting will only work in Show Mode. Users in Road Mode cannot enable this setting.
Best for
Shared showroom iPads where multiple people may be writing orders on the same device throughout the day. Temporary staff, seasonal reps, or anyone covering the floor can select themselves from the list at the start of each order, ensuring their name appears as the order taker on every order they write.
How to Enable
1. Open the User Profile menu on your iPad.
2.Toggle Require Order Taker Selection on.

Default Order Taker Setting
What it Does
When a default order taker is set without enabling the Require Order Taker Selection toggle, the selected person is automatically assigned as the order taker for every new order written on that device. No prompt appears, and no extra tap is required. The default remains in effect until it is manually changed by selecting a new order taker.
The “Default Order Taker Setting” works in both Show and Road modes.
Best for
Situations where a rep needs to use a device other than their own for an extended period. For example, if a rep's iPad did not charge or is otherwise unavailable, a colleague can temporarily set that rep as the default order taker on their device. All orders written during that time will be correctly attributed, without any additional steps at order creation.
How to Configure
Open the User Profile menu on your iPad.
Ensure the “Require Order Taker Selection" option is toggled off when the device is in Show mode.
Tap Default Order Taker and select the appropriate person from the list.

Known Issues/Limitations
The Require Order Taker Selection setting works only in Show mode — it is not applicable to Road mode.
This work does not change the logged-in user; it only changes the “Order Taker” name on the order.
When the RepGroup Salesperson Name differs from the Salesperson Name, there will be a discrepancy between what is displayed in mtPro and the web app. See example below:
