The Division Removal tool allows you to upload a list of DivisionID's via excel file, and the DivisionID's that you upload will be removed from all Customer+Salesperson Hardcode records. There are two categories of DivisionID's that we recommend uploading here.
Divisions that contain "All Manufacturers"
Many users have created a division that is designed to contain all Manufacturers within the RepGroup. The primary business purpose of this division is to represent the Hardcoded Salespeople that represent All Manufacturers for the RepGroup. In the new assignment logic, this is completely unnecessary, as you have the ability to assign a salesperson to a customer with No Division, Limit the customer, and there will be no Territory Reps or other Reps considered under any circumstances.
Divisions that contain "All Manufacturers Except for X"
Many users have created a division that represents a specific line OR specific line package for one hardcode. These types of divisions should remain. However, many users have built another line package that contains every manufacturer for the repgroup except for the manufacturers that are in the line package for the first hardcode. These type of "Everything Else" divisions can also be uploaded here, as Empty-Division setup will cover this scenario, as shown in the screenshot below. Howie Holt is the rep with the specific line for this customer, where as Joyce Jansen has no division, so she covers everything else.
By uploading a file of DivisionID's that contain these "All Manufacturer" and "Everything Else" divisions to the Division Removal tool, MarketTime will find and remove all Hardcoded Salesperson records to customers that contain these divisions, and will then remove them.
Note: When this step has been completed, it is strongly recommended to immediately then convert to the final assignment logic. The old assignment logics do not support the "No division" setup that we have created for your convenience. If running the DivisionID cleanup tool, these assignments will not be effective until your transition to the final assignment logic is complete.
