The mtCharge+ integration allows the secure management of credit cards within NetSuite. Below are the various locations they can be found and actions that can be taken.
From a Customer Record
Adding a New Card
From the Customer record, the mtCharge+ Actions button at the top holds the Add Payment Card feature.
This allows you securely add a credit card for future use with the mtCharge+ integration.
Enter in the relevant card details and click Save Card.
Requesting a New Card from the Customer
Also found in the mtCharge+ Actions menu, Send Card Save Link allows you to send an email directly to the customer, allowing them to securely enter a card for future use with the mtCharge+ integration.
The email will be sent to the Email on the Customer record.
This will be sent using a generic template, unless you've set up and configured a custom template within the mtCharge+ configuration.
Managing Saved Cards
On the customer record, an mtCharge+ tab will appear dynamically as the mtCharge+ integration is used.
The Saved Cards tab will house cards captured within the mtCharge+ integration.
This tab displays information such as Cardholder name, last 4 digits, Status, and Source.
Status
- Active - An active card that has been used and may be used.
- Unused - A card that has been saved but not yet used.
- Declined - A card that has had payment attempted but was declined.
- Failed - A rare status that appears if NetSuite is unable to communicate with MarketTime at the time of processing.
Source
- Manual - A card manually added within the NetSuite UI, be it from the Customer record or on a Sales Order/Cash Sale
- Save Card Link - A card added via the Send Card Link feature.
- Payment Link - A card added via the Send Payment Link feature.
- External - A card that was added from an external source, most often seen when an order originates from MarketTime and the card was captured by the Order Writer within MarketTime.
The chainlink icon next to each card allows you to manage it according to NetSuite rules and behaviors.
Editing a card with this button allows you to set the card to Inactive, update the Name (for more familiar use), and even create a Pre-Authorization using the corresponding button.
Archiving Expired Cards
The last option found in the mtCharge+ Actions menu, Archive Expired Cards allows you automatically set cards with expired information to Inactive.
NOTE: Taking this action will remove all expired cards from the Saved Cards tab and they will no longer be accessible.
Transactions for cards archived will still be accessible within mtCharge+ Payments > Pay Requests on a Sales Order or Cash Sale.
From a Sales Order/Cash Sale
When on a Sales Order or Cash Sale, access to utilize Saved Cards is present as well.
The mtCharge+ Actions button allows for the following actions:
Process a Payment
This option allows you to immediately process payment for a desired amount.
Once an amount is selected and the Next button is clicked, you may choose from cards that are already attached to an order, previously saved cards, or have the ability to add one:
Send Payment Link
This option allows you to request a payment method from the Customer for a desired amount. You also have the ability to choose if the card should be immediately charged or only pre-authorized.
NOTE: During this process, the Customer retains the ability to choose not to have the card saved for future use.
Create a Pre-Authorization
This option allows you to create a pre-authorization for a desired amount.
Once an amount is selected and the Next button is clicked, you may choose from cards that are already attached to an order, previously saved cards, or have the ability to add one:
Capture Pre-Authorization
This option allows you to capture funds from a previously-created pre-authorization. If one is not found, you have the ability to create one as described above.
