Bulk Edit Price Codes on Sales Orders in mtPro
MarketTime has added a new Bulk Edit Price Code feature in mtPro, giving you a fast way to update pricing across an entire sales order in just a few taps. No more opening each line item one at a time to change a price code.
What's New & Why We Made This Change
Previously, updating price codes on a sales order meant editing each item individually, which was tedious and time-consuming on large orders. The new Bulk Edit Price Code tool lets you select multiple items (or all items at once) and apply a target price code in a single action. Line item prices, subtotals, gross totals, and discountable order totals recalculate immediately.
| Before | Now |
| Price codes had to be updated one item at a time | Select multiple items and apply a price code in bulk |
| Changing pricing on large orders was slow and repetitive | Match pricing to a customer's ship-to default or a specific tier in seconds |
| No quick way to see or change individual item price codes inline | Item-level dropdown pickers let you adjust individual items right in the editor |
How to Get There
- Open an order (Quote, HFC, Confirmed) in mtPro (requires iOS 17+). The Bulk Edit button is disabled on Pending and Locked orders
- Tap the Bulk Edit button on the sales order.
-
Review the Assigned Price Code: The customer's assigned ship-to price code displays in the top center of the Bulk Edit view. Tapping this tag pre-selects it in the picker at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Items: Use Select All to choose every eligible product on the order, Deselect All to clear your selection, or tap individual items to pick specific line items.
-
Choose a Price Code: Select your target price code from the main picker at the bottom of the screen. The picker shows only valid price codes across the items you've selected.
- Apply: Tap Apply to update the selected items. Prices, subtotals, gross totals, and discountable order totals recalculate immediately.
-
Save / Exit: Updates are posted when you leave the Bulk Edit view. Click "Done" in the upper right corner. No separate save step is needed.
You can also change price codes on individual items using the item-level dropdown picker directly within the editor, without entering the bulk workflow.
What to Be Aware Of
- iOS 17+ Required:The Bulk Edit button is hidden on devices running iOS 16 or older.
- Finished Orders Only: The Bulk Edit button is disabled on Pending and Locked orders.
- Manually Overridden Prices: Items with a manually overridden price are exempt from bulk editing. They cannot be selected or changed with the picker.
- Discounted Items: Items with applied discounts are also exempt and cannot be selected.
- Special Customer Scale (SCS) Pricing: Items with SCS pricing are exempt from price updates. The picker can be tapped, but the price will not change.
- Price Code Availability: Only price codes assigned to the selected item(s) will appear in the picker. If no alternate price codes exist for your selection, the picker will display as empty.
