It's important to consistently update your iPad to make sure you have all the product updates before you hit the road or go to show.
When you tap Sync Data, it's going to go through 10 steps. You do need to have an internet connection to run a sync, so while you're making coffee in the morning, tap Sync Data, let that piece finish, and then you know that your iPad is up to date with all the latest products.
Sync Data is a push/pull relationship with the Brandwise cloud, while Send Data is strictly a push relationship. If you have an internet connection throughout the day, your orders will sync to the cloud automatically when you exit an order. You can also write orders all day offline and then send your orders once you do have access to the internet using Sync Data or Send Data. The cloud icon will display on the Sync Data button on your home screen if there are orders that need to be sent. However, we highly recommend that you connect to internet throughout the day to ensure you orders are backed up safely. With an internet connection, all order statuses are saved to the Brandwise cloud. Confirmed orders are sent to the supplier automatically when in Road mode. If Send Data is transparent, then all your orders have been synced. This is normal state of this button if you have an internet connection.
You can download images ahead of time if you know you’re going to a location where you won’t have an internet connection. Those images are will be available offline as you visit different retailers. Keep in mind that if you’ve already viewed a product image on your iPad, it’s already downloaded. If the Images icon is transparent, you are offline or in show mode. You can see your system mode by tapping the profile icon in the top right of the home screen. If you are in show mode, and not at a show, you need to contact your head office to change to road mode.
