The main feature of the MarketTime app is the ability to create new Line Item Orders. This process is very similar to how it works in MarketTime proper.
What you'll learn
- How to create a Line Item Order
- How to transmit your orders
To begin writing a new order, start by either tapping New Order or selecting a Customer by using the Customers button and using the corresponding Order button, both found from the Home Screen.
Adding Items to your Basket
Once you've selected your customer, you will be brought strait to the Basket in Scan mode, so you can begin scanning items into the Basket.
When in scanning mode, the Search field will be green:
You can toggle between Scan/Search mode using the button next to the field:
As you scan items, they'll be put into your Basket, allowing you to scan items for multiple Manufacturers as needed, orders will be split up accordingly when finalizing the orders.
To browse items, tap the Browse Items button at the top, which will allow you to filter by Manufacturer, search/sort/scan items as needed.
You can toggle between Shipping locations for this customer if writing orders for multiple locations, by using the "truck" icon at the top and selecting the correct Shipping location. This can be toggled back and forth to add items to each location as needed. (1).
Toggling between List and Grid view can be done using the icon at the top (2), while tapping the "plus" icon allows you to manually add an item that does not appear in your item lists (3).
Tapping on an image of an item will display a larger image, and more information about that item.
The resulting screen will allow to view, favorite, add notes to, and/or add the item to the order.
As you add items to your orders, relevant info will appear at the bottom of the screen, such as how many items are in the Basket (1), whether or not the orders meet the Minimum Order Amount for the Manufacturers you have items selected for (2), and the total of the session and amount of orders during this session (3).
Finalizing your Order(s)
When you are satisfied with your order, use the Finalize Order button at the bottom to continue to the Finalization screen:
If you have not yet met the minimums for your selected Manufacturers, you will be notified, though you can proceed to finalization by clicking YES on the window that appears.
Once you've made it to the Finalization screen, you can complete the rest of your order's details.
Order Date, Ship Date, Order Code, Customer Contact, Payment and Ship terms are required, and are denoted with an asterisk. Most of this information is auto-populated.
If you choose a Payment Term that requires information (such as Discover, Mastercard, Visa, or American Express), you will be asked to collect that information for the chosen payment term.
If choosing an existing payment term, you have the ability to add the card's CVV for the Manufacturer to obtain (where applicable).
Editing Items on Order
You may scroll through your order's items, and edit/add items as needed at the bottom of the screen:
Bulk Edit
Using the Bulk Edit feature allows you to edit multiple items at once.
In the Basket screen, simply long-press on an item to highlight it, then tap on the other items you wish to change. Once finished, tap on the Bulk Edit button to make your changes.
This process can be repeated on the Finalization screen as well.
Applying Specials/Promotions to an Order
Tapping the Specials button at the bottom will show any relevant/active Promotions that can be applied to the order. Tap on the relevant Promotion and it will be added to the Notes field of the order.
If you have multiple orders in this session, you may tap the Save & Next button to continue to the next order to finalize.
When you are finished with your orders, use the Finish button at the bottom of the screen to save the orders.
Emailing or Transmitting your Order(s)
Once finalized, you may use the other options listed on the screen to email a copy of the order(s) to the customer, print the order(s), or transmit the orders directly to the Manufacturer from your device.
If transmitting to the Manufacturer, your order will appear in MarketTime for your Manufacturer next time you perform a sync.
Return to the Dashboard by tapping Go To Dashboard at the bottom of the screen.
