A major feature within MarketTime is the ability to transmit orders to either your Customers or Manufacturers, depending on your needs.
What you'll learn
- How to send an order to a Manufacturer
- How to send an order to a Customer
During the Order Entry process (generally begun by founding a New Order button), once you've added all the desired items to your basket you will Finalize your order to proceed.
From there, you will complete all required fields (Payment/Shipping Terms, Order Code, etc.) until your order is either in the OPEN or QUOTE status. This signifies that the order has everything needed in order to be transmitted to the Customer or Manufacturer.
Once ready to transmit the order to the Customer or Manufacturer, you may use the Send Order button to transmit the order to who needs to receive it.
(1). Manufacturer
(2). Customer (with Bill To/Ship To toggle to choose the relevant email)
(3). Buyer/Contact
(4) Salesperson on order
(5). Includes a PDF with UPC Barcodes for items within this order.
Additionally, the Mark as Sent button allows you to mark the order as transmitted, which is handy if you know the Manufacturer already has this order.
NOTE: This is typically only used when you wish to mark the order as if it were sent, common with orders you know the Manufacturer has already received and is being entered into MarketTime for your records. It's important to know that using the Mark as Sent button will NOT notify the Manufacturer of the order, but will be visible to them within their MarketTime account.
This will also set the status of the order to TRANSMITTED and the Manufacturer Status to RECEIVED, so the Manufacturer knows they've previously received the order.
The Item Without Image toggle allows you to choose whether or not the emailed copies of this order will contain item images.
NOTE: This is only recommended for smaller orders. When transmitting orders to the Customer, they automatically receive a link that allows them to retrieve a copy of the order(s) that include images.
Check the desired recipient's corresponding checkbox and click SEND ORDER NOW to transmit the order to each person you've selected.
Your orders may be viewed and opened to edit/transmit by navigating to the View Orders screen and clicking the Edit button to the right of the desired order.
Once the order has been sent, there are a few cases where it's unable to be edited afterwards.
These scenarios include:
- The Manufacturer is receiving orders in Stream.
- The Manufacturer as toggled the "No Edit after Transmit" option within their account.
