Managing Salespeople & Manufacturer Territories

MarketTime allows you to create Salespeople Territories for customer auto-assignment for customers you or your Salespeople add into MarketTime, or that register through your B2B e-commerce website.

Manufacturer Territories are to ensure Manufacturers are being properly dispersed among the various states/territories you may represent them in, and allow for better vendor line list reporting.

Territories can be managed by clicking Divisions & Territories under the Maintenance option in the navigation menu, and using the Territories tab.

On the Territories tab, you can toggle between Manufacturer Territories and Salespeople Territories.

Adding a new Territory

To add a new Territory, click the New Territory button to begin.

In the resulting window, create your Territory, again using the drop-down to determine whether or not this is a Salesperson or Manufacturer Territory. Click Save to proceed.

Once you've saved the new Territory, you will now need to add Zip Codes to it. To do this, click the Add Zip Codes button next to the Territory.

The resulting screen will allow you to search for Zip Codes (which can be searched with more accuracy using the drop-down menus and search field) (1), select Zip Codes (2), then add them to the Territory (3).

Zip Codes can be removed from the Territory by selecting the desired Zip Codes from the Territory Zip Codes list (1), then clicking the Delete option (2).

Adding Zip Codes via Excel Import

In addition to manually selecting Zip Codes to assign to a Territory, you have the ability to import them via a properly-formatted Excel sheet. To do so, select your territory, and choose the Import button:

This feature can be used to Update or Replace existing Zip Codes within a Territory as well.

Adding Salespeople to Territories

To assign Salespeople to a Territory, use the Assign Salespeople button next to the desired Territory:

The resulting popup allows you to choose which Salespeople to assign to the Territory (1), as well as the Division they are a part of (if applicable within your company) (2). When finished with your selection, click Assign at the bottom of the window.
