In cases where retailers from your B2B Website or salespeople within your company have items sitting in their basket/cart, you may produce a report/email notification to remind them.
The Difference between Unfinished Orders and Abandoned Carts
While the guide below references using Unfinished Orders as a precursor to using the Abandoned Carts feature, we felt it important to describe each to understand the differences.
Abandoned Carts - These are orders originating from your company's B2B Website. These occur when a Retailer begin shopping, adding items to their Basket, clicked Checkout, but has not submitted the order to your company.
Abandoned Carts
This feature is found on the Customers screen.
Begin by filtering by Unfinished Orders (1), then use the Abandoned Carts button (2).
Here you'll be given the ability to choose between unfinished orders within your own company, or within your B2B website:
Unfinished Orders within your Company
Using the Unfinished Orders from Portal button, you can choose to filter by orders created by Salespeople, Administrators (Repgroup), or Retailers:
You can choose to Print/Preview the report by clicking Apply after choosing your Export.
You may print/download the report using the corresponding buttons.
Sending Targeted Abandoned Cart Reminders from Your B2B Website
Help your retailers finish shopping with targeted abandoned cart reminders. You can filter which unfinished orders to include, then send each retailer one organized email with links back to checkout.
What’s New & Why We Made This Change
You now have more control over which abandoned carts you follow up on. When Email is selected, you can narrow your reminders by retailer, manufacturer, and the date items were added to the cart.
Instead of receiving separate reminders for each qualifying order, each retailer receives one consolidated email. Orders are listed alphabetically by manufacturer, with item details and a dedicated Checkout Now button.
How to Get There
- Open Customers in MarketTime Cloud.
- Select the Unfinished Orders filter.
- Click Abandoned Carts.
- Select Unfinished Orders from B2B Website.
- Set Export Options to Email.
How to Send a Reminder
- Use Select Retailer to choose one or more retailers. Leave it set to All Retailers if you don’t want to narrow by retailer.
- Use Select Manufacturer to choose one or more manufacturers. The default is All Manufacturers.
- Use Date Added to Cart to select a date range. The default is All Dates.
- Click Apply to send reminders for unfinished orders matching your criteria.
Each retailer receives one email containing their qualifying unfinished orders.
Apply sends the reminders when Email is selected. Review your filters before clicking it.
What Your Retailer Sees
- The retailer opens the reminder email and reviews their orders, grouped alphabetically by manufacturer.
- They click Checkout Now for the order they want to complete.
- Their B2B cart opens. If they aren’t already signed in, they’ll be prompted to log in first.
- The checkout window opens with the linked order automatically selected if it meets the manufacturer’s minimum order or reorder requirement.
- They click Checkout Now in the checkout window, review the order details, complete any required fields, and click Submit Order.
Orders below the manufacturer’s minimum are highlighted in the checkout window and excluded from checkout. Unselected orders remain in the retailer’s basket for later.
What to Be Aware Of
This enhancement does not add the ability to delete abandoned carts yourself. Continue following the Request to Delete an Abandoned Cart.
Automatic selection does not bypass manufacturer minimums. An order must still meet the applicable minimum order or reorder requirement before it can be checked out.
Request Abandoned Cart Deletion
- Submit a request here.
- Select Abandoned Cart from the Topic dropdown menu.
- Complete the form with the requested information.
Retailer ID is required, and only one retailer account can be submitted request. Tickets with multiple retailers may be closed with no action taken.
