Pre-authorizations may be created and captured in a few locations within NetSuite.
From a Customer Record
Creating a Pre-Authorization
Thanks to the Saved Cards tab (mtCharge+ > Saved Cards) within Customer records, you can create a pre-authorization on any saved cards. If a card is not saved, you may also add one from the Customer record.
Click the relevant Link icon to access the card.
Clicking Create Pre-Authorization will allow you to create a pre-authorization for a desired amount for the card that isn't tied to a Sales Order or Cash Sale.
Pre-authorizations are displayed on the Pre-Authorization tab (found under mtCharge+) within the Company record as well.
Status
- Active - An active pre-authorization that has not been captured but can be.
- Captured - A pre-authorization that has been successfully captured.
- Expired - A pre-authorization that has expired.
Voiding a Pre-Authorization
In the event you need to void a pre-authorization and release funds, you may do so by navigating to the pre-authorization.
NOTE: You may only void pre-authorizations that are Active and have not been captured yet.
This can be done from the Pre-Authorizations tab, clicking the unique Record link shown next to each pre-authorization.
On the resulting screen, click Void Pre-Authorization to do so.
From a Sales Order/Cash Sale
Pre-authorizations may be created and captured on Sales Orders/Cash Sales as needed.
Creating a Pre-Authorization
Begin by using the Create a Pre-Authorization from the mtCharge+ Actions menu.
Here you may choose the desired amount and click Next to select the desired card to pre-authorize.
Use the Enter a new card to create a new card to use.
Capturing a Pre-Authorization
When it's time to charge a customer and you need to capture a previously-created pre-authorization, the Capture Pre-Authorization from the mtCharge+ Actions menu is where you'll perform this action.
Here you'll be asked to select from previous pre-authorizations captured for this Sales Order/Cash Sale and the amount you intend to capture from the selected pre-authorization.
NOTE: Any remaining funds from the pre-authorization will NOT be released unless the relevant setting (Release Remaining Pre-Auth Balance after Partial Capture) is enabled within the Manufacturer Configuration within NetSuite.
Pre-authorizations are displayed on the Pre-Authorization tab (found under mtCharge+ Payments) within the record as well.
